Today’s Work Chronicles are being brought to you by: “Bobz and Bandz” that represent Drs. King and Angelou and Sister Parks; the church that brought service to the residents; a resident’s husband and a resident.
Since I will be celebrating Dr. King from the house tomorrow (judge yourself), I decided to honor him today.
The church sang lots of songs this morning, but the hymn “Trust and Obey” immediately took me back to my childhood where I heard my grandmother’s tenor, my mother and aunts’ alto and soprano, my uncles’ baritone and bass and silence from my grandfather as he simply mouthed the words 😂
The resident’s husband always stops by to talk and today’s conversation was about the weather. He demanded I bundle up because if I don’t, “You’ll be (insert sounds of coughing, sniffing and passing gas). And who wants to do that?”
As we swap family stories, a resident says Denise James, is “cool as a fan. She’s got her head on straight.”
