Now that I have your attention, the movie “Just Mercy”, albeit an enlightening and well documented piece of art, let the world know of the injustices happening in Alabama. Haven’t been to the facility since the Holidays. Messed around and answered the phone saying, “Happy Holidays and thank you for calling…” Compartmentalization is something. Of course virus precaution is heightened and foolishness is at an all time high.
Visitor: Let me zip my coat up cause I have been sick
Me: 😳
Visitor: I need to take time to take care of myself
Me (in my head): But don’t kill me in the process
Another Visitor: *Sniffing* We were supposed to have a meeting with people from all over the globe and they cancelled it *Continues to sniff*
Me: 😳
Visitor: *Rubs hand sanitizer* It’s better to be… *coughs a wet cough” this stuff (sanitizer) makes me cough
Me: 😳
No one answered the phone on the units so I had to deliver messages…
Me approaching 3 nurses gathered at a med cart: Pharmacy called in reference to *patient*
Responsible Nurse (who hasn’t answered since I’ve been here): *👀 me up and down* WHAT THEY ‘WONT’? 🙄
Me: 😐 The number is on the paper I handed you 🚶🏾♀️🚶🏾♀️🚶🏾♀️
Visitors talking to each other but looking at me: They gave us cups as gifts at work and THEY ALL CAME FROM CHINA. I said, “Y’all are trying to make us leave early.” 🤣🤣🤣
Me: 😐
Me in my head: But your draws, coat, glasses, jeans, jacket and some of your teeth came from there yet you’re still here.
