Today’s Work Chronicles (Evening Edition)…
Clearly you all did NOT pray because time is not moving swiftly and I have been communicating with a resident for almost 3 hours STRAIGHT (I hear him rolling back up here as I type so I ran to the office but the phone rang and when I came out to answer his head popped around the corner 😭😭😭).
It started with me taking him in the conference room to call his wife who called me and told me I forgot about her and left her on hold (it wasn’t me).
I’ve heard his family story, how his sisters (who are MH providers) told him he needed to seek help from a psychiatrist. I’ve heard about his wife of 20 yrs, whom he met answering an ad. She was divorced with two children and on welfare but fought to do better. Her son stopped making her Life Alert payments so they think he was trying to kill her, and her daughter stole $250 from them. He did find a good therapist, Dr. Leblanc, after seeking treatment from one who talked him into turning his apartment into a home for “wayward women.” 😯
He asked me if I had any children and apparently I look single because he also asked if I was divorced. I told him I’d never been married and he said, “So you just had an affair and your son is the result?” 🙄
He left to go eat and a family member of another resident told me, “They should pay you extra because I’ve had to endure him. Yea, you deserve extra.”
He came back because the dining room wasn’t ready. He’s eaten and is back again after catching me trying to sneak away and said, “They told me they prefer for me to stay on the unit and eat.” Then he says, “I can only stay up here three more hours because I have to get back to watch Columbo.” Me:😨😨😨
He asked to call his wife. I RUN to take him to the phone only to hear him say as I’m walking down the hall, “Okay honey, you finish eating and I’ll talk to you tomorrow.” Me: 😨😭😨😭 Where do you want to go now? Him: Back to the front Me: 😨😭😨😭😨😭
As I type this, he’s still talking about his therapists and women he’s been “friendly with.” The other resident’s family member is behind him 🙄. I expect him to talk until Columbo comes on at 8p and it will further prove that: 1. Y’all in fact didn’t pray for me 2. I think his sisters were right all along.
I also had to mediate a marriage but I don’t have time to get into that cause he’s 👀 at me and repeating all the stories from 3 hrs ago almost in the same order. 😔
