Today’s Volunteer Chronicles Part 2…(Pastor Edition)
I forgot to tell y’all this. My mother told us to never walk out of a store without our products in a bag because: 1. You don’t want people to think you’re stealing and 2. You don’t want people to know what you have
Well, we pulled up on a man who was going in his house with a case of Natural Light. He allowed us to come in and install. I was responsible for getting the waivers signed so I stayed in the livingroom. In said livingroom, there were Bibles EVERYWHERE! From the big one your grandparents kept birth certificates and social security cards in to the mini ones. Certificates and items acknowledging his church all on the walls. I could tell by the look on his face he was shame. He put the case in the freezer. Shyly answers my questions. I recognize the awkwardness and never mentioned the beer. My white volunteer colleague shouted out as we were exiting, “ARE YOU A PASTOR?”
Him:👀
Me:😳👀✌🏾🚶🏾♀️
Him: Oh yea. Me and my wife
