Today’s Weekend Chronicles…
I’m all about traveling. I’m even more about traveling to celebrate life over scrambling to plan travel for a funeral. I blocked my calendar months ago to attend this milestone celebration because even though Kameka and her sister left me at the Von Braun Center years ago (last night’s story reminded me), they are so honest and fun! Not to mention their mother was my favorite singer, a consistent visitor of my grandmother and instrumental during my pregnancy.
Last night was all about family. My cousin Courtenay, of Christopher’s Bakery, is the travel guide of the family who also came bearing treats…Pic 3.
I appreciate Kameka’s reasons for throwing the party and was not surprised by any of its lavish elements…Pics 1 and 2 only represent a SMALL portion of the “extra” stuff she had going on 🤣
The night would not have been complete without the comedy shared by the younger cousins, who are adults now and who all made quick turnaround trips. Nor would it have been complete without a birthday song, demanded by Kameka with harmony (See the IG video).
“Live, Laugh, Love” is absolutely cliché but also absolutely desribes the importance of this weekend.
