Today’s Work Chronicles…
Resident came and asked when the podiatrist would be back? I didn’t hear her at first so then she said, “the man who can look at my BIG TOE.” I told her, “September 4th which is next Tuesday.” She says, “TUESDAY? That’s bingo day and I like bingo better than I like him.” She proceeds to wheel away and then comes back and says, “Wait…he sets up in the beauty parlor and the beautician’s there Monday and Tuesday. He’s gonna have to pick another day cause she can’t shut down for him.” I said to myself, by the looks of some of these feet and your complaint about your big toe, he can set up in the dining room.
A resident passed earlier today and the hospice nurse decides to call A MILLION TIMES at the END of the shift to rush me to get the nurse so she relay info about body donation.
Two highlights of my day:
1. My mother is still in the land of the living after offering to take a young mother home yesterday who lived near a murder. She thought the street was roped off for an event and had no idea someone had been shot. She reluctantly told me she took the young lady cause she says I fuss. She learned about the shooting while watching the news last night and thought she was in the clear because I don’t watch the news nor do I read the paper. But ohhhhh…my timeline informed me this morning and I told her she’s getting a gps on her car.
2. A Facebook friend requested I pray for the young man in their home and agreed to do the same for Michai for a successful school year. It warmed my heart because high school is going to be a huge shift for us (me 😏). By the time we finished messaging, I think 5-10 NEW people are going to cover us. I have lost hope in a lot of things, but the power of prayer ain’t one of ’em.
Here’s to the best school year for students and all involved in their paths to success! Y’all have a good week…
