The team took a loss last night on and off the field. Off the field Michai learned some valuable lessons. He finally recognized the responsibilities attached to being a leader and how he can’t hype the team up before the game but be a poor sport during and after the game. He responded poorly to losing and I had to go down and talk through my teeth. We talked on the way home and he got it. He admitted his emotional mistakes and that missing a tackle that turned into a touchdown humbled him really quickly. Karma is something else. I’m proud of how he listened, I pray he learns and continues to help lead the team.

Michai (texting me): I’m not taking band next year
Me: Oh yes you are. That instrument is paid for
Him: It’s not like it was last year. (New teacher) This is boring. Pawn it and get your money back. Will you see if I left my mouthpiece home?
Me: I’m not selling it and I’m not going home. You better find a mouthpiece because we’ve already paid for braces, we can’t afford dentures
