Today’s Work Chronicles….
IT’S OPEN ENROLLMENT SEASON!!! I hope you’re reading your e-mails from your HR departments so you’ll know which benefits to choose. I had the option of working the main campus of the privileged school located up 52N, or their Charlotte location. I opted to work main campus since it was local and didn’t start until Noon (I’m travel weary in my old age). Well, I didn’t think it through cause that meant engaging with 400+ plus people vs 50 people in Charlotte.👀😳😭 Pic 2
Pic 1…I was watching their employee video on the large screen, where the young lady in the photo was featured and I said, “I know her!” A lady attending the event said, “She’s right over there.” So proud to see black women in power.
Pic 3…He (if it was a he under there) kept coming by the table and y’all know how I feel about mascots. It doesn’t help I spent all day Sunday watching ALL of the Halloween (Michael Myers) movies.
People, no matter their income level, love free stuff. We don’t usually offer giveaways, but offered pens today at client’s request. As I was packing up, lady comes by…
Lady: *Digging in packed bag for a pen and looks at branded tablecloth* Oh I don’t like you all anymore
Me: 🤔😐
Lady: My prescriptions went really high when I moved here from NY State. Same plan and everything.
Me: 🤔 *You can’t have the same plan with a different employer in another state, but since you are the 457th person I’ve interacted with I’ll let you keep talking*
Lady: *Digs for more pens* It’s unconscionable for you all to do that!
Me: Did we do that or did your employer make that decision? *And give me my pens back he**a*
Lady: Oh, yea it was *said employer’s* decision…
Me: *Turns to continue packing while saying, “Go on somewhere lady.”*
It’s also Homecoming season…be nice to your livers!
And y’all still aren’t praying on your knees because Michai has a band concert tonight that I found out about THIS MORNING!
