Today’s Work Chronicles…

It is typically quite difficult to get anyone to answer on either of the units after 5p. A resident mishandled one of the cordless phones and you could hear numbers being dialed throughout the entire facility. All of sudden, people (who can never be found when hospitals or labs call) from both units call me to say, “We can hear you dialing.” I ask, “How is it me when I’m on the phone with you and we both still hear it?” Them: 🤔

I then instruct them to check the resident phones even after they tell me it has to be me since I operate the switchboard. Clearly their parents never told them to not talk back.🙄

White lady (you’ll quickly learn why race is relevant) comes to visit a resident.

White Lady: Hello, how are you?
Me: I’m well, how are you?
White Lady: Well? Look at you using your proper and correct grammar! 😉
Me: 😐
Me in my head: car payment, tutoring, hair/haircut, gas, student loan, pedicure…don’t say it Micha. It ain’t ‘worf’ it
