Today’s Work Chronicles…
Hospital nurse called to give report for a new admit. Receiving nurse wasn’t answering so I took a message and walked it back to the nurse. The nurse reluctantly took the paper and walked towards the phone. Hospital nurse calls again and says she’s about to be inaccessible for the next 30 minutes so she wanted to give report. I walk back again to the nurse and ask:
Me: Were you able to call the nurse? You were walking towards the phone…
Her: I haven’t been able to do anything
Me: She says she about to be inaccessible for…
Her: *Motion of her head and the bouncing of her wig were continuous as seen in the GIF* WELL ME TOO! THEY NEED TO UNDERSTAND…
Me: 👀😳 *Proceeds to slow walk backwards and then 🚶🏾♀️🚶🏾♀️🚶🏾♀️ while shaking my head because anyone who knows me knows I don’t like to be yelled at*
Her: IS SHE ON THE PHONE? GO AHEAD AND SEND HER BACK HERE!
Me: I did which is why I’m back here now because YOU DIDN’T ANSWER *as I continue to 🚶🏾♀️🚶🏾♀️🚶🏾♀️ while whispering…I hope your wig falls off heffa*
And I pass the patient on the way back to the desk…which means no one knows the health history to be able to properly treat them.
