“Thank You For Being A Friend…”

We ended 2021 losing America’s Golden Girl, Betty White. We learned today of the loss of a father/friend/mentor to many, as well as, an incredible history maker…Sidney Poitier. Before losing both of them, I lost a dear friend by the name of Ms. Peggy.

If you want to learn a little more about her, she is who I’m describing in parts 1, 2 and 3 of https://michaismom.com/will-you-walk-into-my-parlour-said-the-spider-to-the-fly-part-1/

I wasn’t going to write about her because her loss was sudden and we were looking forward to having her celebrate Michai’s graduation with us but, after witnessing a plant bloom today, and seeing the above picture in the Journal, my mind wouldn’t let me rest without celebrating her.

I received this plant >10 years ago at the funeral of “the wife”, whose house is where I met Ms. Peggy. It has NOT bloomed until today, and I took it as “the wife” sending her love .

We saw her just a couple months ago when we took her a birthday card. She wasn’t really interested in seeing/visiting with us until AFTER she finished the meal her sister and niece prepared 💁🏾‍♀️ 😂. My heart and mind rested a lot better after learning she obtained a slot, and was comfortable, at the Elizabeth and Tab Williams Adult Daycare Center. She also had two caregivers she loved who alternated caring for her in the evenings.

I learned so much from Ms. Peggy and will remain grateful to her and her family for NEVER treating me like “The Help”, but more as family. Unfortunately, Ms. Peggy, Betty White and Sidney Poitier won’t be the only ones we lose, as the circle of life will continue. However, I’m still traumatized by Ms. Peggy yelling at the TV while watching MSNBC during election seasons (when I cared for her mother and again while caring for her) and the insurrection. So in honor of Ms. Peggy, “the patient” and “the wife”, make sure you VOTE! Otherwise, if a certain “idiot” makes it back in office, I believe Ms. Peggy just may wake up from her rest…😳😔😂

Ms. Peggy, I’m not gifted enough to do Sudukos, but I will do a word search in your honor 😉🤗❤️.
