Today’s “Diversity” In Business/Black Parenting Chronicles…
I was barely off the phone with the new agency before I received the e-mail below. I pay attention to marketing. This agency merged their business with a financial planning company and I didn’t see nary person who looked like me.
I want to respond by saying, “I’m leaving cause y’all ain’t got no black folk over there…”, instead I am taking time to formulate a response to include the “diversity and inclusion” buzzwords, because that’s what they’ll understand; yet I still have to be specific and use the word “black”, because diversity and inclusion usually means hiring more (white) women.
Speaking of white women, I know Amy hates she went viral the same day as those cops, cause she may have kept her job with an employer who has one of America’s “Founding Fathers” as their mascot.
Me and Michai in the car:
Him: Did you see where that black man died, no, he was murdered by…
Me: Yes, didn’t read details but saw the cops were fired. Did you see where a white lady in Central Park called the cops on a black man?
Him: No
Me: Google it. What do you want to eat?
Also Me: No more energy to be outraged; just numb
