What A Time To Be Alive…Part 2 (although posted first 😉)

These parts are being published out of order for legal and safety purposes, however, I didn’t want to let these emotions from the theme of the title pass before capturing them. Added to the fact, it’s been 90 days since I’ve shared with y’all 😳🫢.

We not only celebrated 100 Episodes of Our Kijiji with a studio recorded podcast, we continue to celebrate with additional recordings and hearing from viewers about what they want to see from the platform. I use the word ‘celebrate’ while I’m feeling pressure from viewers’ requests. I don’t know what they think I’m capable of because they want me to do a whole lot of talking and engaging while I prefer to write ✍🏾 from my bed 🛌 with my bonnet on with my phone connected to the 🔌 and the 📺 on in the background. Not in front of a camera that requires me to put clothes on, my face to be beat, and for people (who shall remain nameless) to not tell me I have a HAIR CLIP in my hair before recording begins 🙄!

“For Us. By Us. To Help Us Be Our Best Us!”

I REMAIN grateful for and to those who attended the summer meet-up and participated in some good conversation. Based on the content, those in attendance trusted it to be a safe space and that is what I always want to offer, and what I know Kellie and A4E support. Michai was wishing he was not an adult for some parts of it 🫣…he stuck around anyway. I’m just not understanding at what point he began feeling so comfortable with saying, “It’s about that time, ain’t it?”, as a way to tell me he’s ready to go 😂🤣.

Speaking of Michai…Crosby Scholars is hosting their 30 year reunion today and, although I’m an Alumna, I originally opted to not attend and allow Michai and his friend to attend alone. Now that I have a little more time on my hands (more about that in Part 1 👀), I told Michai I am going.

Michai: Why would you wanna do that?
Me: It’s an Alumni event.
Michai: It is and I also remember you saying, “Imma let y’all have that”, word for word.
Me: Can I go or not?
Michai: If you want to.

I later told him “If you want to” is not the best response and why. He later asked, “Now why do you wanna go to this again? I’m just not understanding.” I told him outside of graduating from the same high school, there isn’t much we will share and since we’re both Crosby Alums…I wanna go.

Michai said, “That’s cool, it also doesn’t mean you have to go.” I think he’s rethinking not getting campus housing this semester and I think he also knows Imma probably have him take me a few places before we go home 🤭😂.

Congratulations to Ms. Mona Lovett and team for the evolution of Crosby Scholars and all they offer students. “For college. For life!”

In reference to Part 1…brace yourselves because the way I’ve had to practice ALL the healing tools I’ve learned…get ready, get ready, get R E A D Y!!!
