☝🏾This was just to lure you here. It ain’t gon’ be that deep…today. 😉
I’m running out of entertainment options. Mainly because my “kitchens” are giving me a headache and I just want to wake up to my hair being flat ironed. For those who need help with “kitchens”; Urban Dictionary will help.
I started making the list below after learning Chancellor Elwood Robinson lost to ECSU’s, fly and Winston-Salem native, Chancellor on an IG battle prior to last night’s debacle…see viral photo below.
List of things I hope I will stop seeing post virus:
•Live videos of bodies in funeral homes
•Posting your homemade dinners UNLESS you are a chef/caterer; then please also show us your kitchen
•Riddles being shared because you lost to someone else
•Complaints about ol’ boy (45). He was a lunatic when he was hired. The only thing that’s changed is people taking on his traits by watching him every day like he’s going to say something sane
•Live videos where we have to wait for you to finish speaking to everyone before we learn what you went live for. Then we get motion sick because you’re driving/or moving around a lot while recording
•Posting the essential items you bought hours after you bought them. TELL US WHILE YOU’RE IN THE STORE!
•IG Live “Conferences” where the connection is bad, we hear echoes and everything is delayed. We’re fine with it being prerecorded-I actually noted this prior to last night’s debacle
•People wearing masks and gloves but smoking a blunt someone else slobbed all over
•Michai popping up in my room asking, “What’s that smell?”, when I try to sneak and eat food
•My heels burning because they are about to get pressure ulcers from being in the same position too long
•”Singers” singing The Clark Sisters’ songs. Wait until we forget about the movie and all their videos populating OR think high and raise your eyebrows before you attempt
•Assumptions that introverts like being quarantined. Most of us like having the freedom to do what we want, we just don’t like a lot of people around when we do it, i.e. social distancing
•The usage of the words/phrases: quarantine, social distancing, breaking news, orders, 14 days, asymptomatic
•Masks…especially the dirty ones and gloves that are not changed
I hope I continue to see:
•Appreciation of people who have to deal with your kids
•Laughter at realities, i.e. bald spots, work from home situations with pets and kids, understanding there’s a reason for people opting not to show themselves on Zoom
•Employers offering the same flexibility and understanding post quarantine
•Chick-Fil-A’s bathrooms re-opening
•Swift adjustment to change
•People understanding how much Black workers and Black dollars affect the economy
•Transparency of mental statuses and steps taken to regain health
•Willingness to help each other
•Exposing Michai to things like: In Living Color (and all the shows/movies that were created for the actors in the show), how to help me remove my gel polish, why he should not take those early morning barber shop appointments for granted
•Support of local businesses and those same businesses offering the same accommodations and service they offered prior to the lockdown
•Our creativity
•Concern about our holistic health
•Conversation AND action for the known racial, healthcare and economic disparities.
What’s on your list?
